About
Who is this "Elektrik in der Luft"?
History
Oliver Rühl, also known as "Elektrik in der Luft", was born in 1976 and discovered his passion for electronic music at the age of 11, when he would play around with keyboards at the department store while his mother was shopping.
He took keyboard lessons which he found extremely boring and soon bought his first used synthesizer (Roland JX-3P) for 400 DM.
His early experiments were based on tape loops, which reflected his fascination with creating unique soundscapes.
"Elektrik in der Luft" draws inspiration from the beauty of nature and often incorporates elements of field recordings and natural sounds into his music.
His humble, experimental approach to music production creates a wide range of various timbres and dynamics.
His influences, including Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Underworld, The Orb, and Sigur Rós, shape his atmospheric ambient sound, which occasionally invites movement through clear rhythms.
